While making night sky photos with Hero 4 Black, I got totally different photos without changing any settings. My settings were:
MegPixels: 12mp Wide
Spot Meter: Off
Protune: onWhite Balance: 3000K
ISO low: 800
ISO high: 800
Sharpness = MED
EV Comp: n/a.
This is first photo
And here is the second one, same settings, slightly changed camera position. Any idea what causes the difference between those two?
Afterwards I tried changing settings but never came close to the first photo.

How does GOPR2423 looks like?
Is there any source of light nearby that might affect?
May I know the SD card you're using as well?
That shouldn't change since you have a manual and fixed settings.

here is 2422
As you can see there is a light source in the right bottom, but then it disappeared, while photos remained the same. Also if a lightsource can change some parameters of photo (2423 upward are darker and white balance seems different than in 2421 and 2422) it means that there is a setting wchich is not literally fixed. If so, do you have any clue which one this could be and how to prevent happening something like this in the future?
Card I'm using is Sandisk EXTREME PRO MICROSDXC 64GB UHS-I

Got it @snowyjump26540,
Is this the first time you encountered this issue?
I suggest to try to shoot some videos and photos at night and check if same issue persist.
First thing you can try is to remove and insert the battery and SD card.
Next install a new firmware manually.

If issue persist please contact GoPro Customer Support.
