I also have same issue.
White balance 5500k stucked in Night lapse is not always happened.
Shutter "Auto" has no problem.
If you chance the shutter speed setting "2~30s" from auto, white balance is always stucked on 5500k.
Only way for setting shutter speed with another white balance is from setting by GoPro app.
I already asked about this problem Dec 2018 to GoPro Korea. But 1.7 Update do not fix this issue.

Hello Everyone. We got information from the team regarding the issue. Due to variation in white balance with the longer exposure times, when any shutter value aside from AUTO is chosen, white balance is locked at 5500K. This makes it easier to adjust an assembled Night Lapse' white balance later, if desired, and avoids the white balance variations/oscillations seen with longer shutter times. Hope this helps.

So, is this issue intended?
That does not make sence, cause locked WB 5500k is only by GoPro device, can be changed by GoPro app. Why does WB change possible at GoPro app?
There is no reason why we have to adjust WB later.
This is just software problem that you must fix.

thanks for the follow up on the issue.
If that is really intended feature it would be good to lock WB menu completely on both app and camera UI. It is bit misleading that you can scroll through the values but without possiiblity to pick any option.

Ha... I don't know what you are talking about.
Problems is just the this.
1. At night lapse photo, WB is stucked on 5500k when shutter is not set to Auto.
2. If stuck WB 5500k is intended, why that option is not N/A like EV comp at GoPro device? It make people confused.
3. And WB can be changed in the GoPro app even not set to auto, not only the preview, but the actual shooting result. If you do not go to settings in GoPro device during shooting by app, WB is not back to 5500K. Your reply is wrong.
ex) Night Lapse, Shutter 2s, Protune ON, WB 5500k&2300k, Other settings are same.
If you say this is not problems, It's totally wrong. Are you really understanding the detail?
Please, just fix the GoPro device software.
