Good News!! I received a New Replacement Hero 4 Black as a Warranty Replacement.
So Kudos to GoPro for taking care of my issue.
I did notice that it has Firmware V03.00 so I will not be doing any updating since I never had issues before.

Yes Im using one of the four SD cards I have.. When the problem started all my SD cards failed.
Its night here as I write this and its been outside taking a night lapse images for about two hours.. so far it has taken 229 images using one of the SD cards that failed using Firmware V04.00

Same issue. Tried multiple different settings and cards of all were GoPro approved. Still same. No analitical pattern to the freezing on night lapse. Mine started after the latest update. I cannot find my receipt. CS tells me my camera did not get registered. I register every electronic item I have ever bought in my life. But I cannot produce the receipt. The email responses take forever. So I started reasearching and found where everyone was saying don't use their email, responses may not happen to call instead. And many complaints the same as ours. Now I am going to end up on my trip without my GoPro because of their failures. I am exteremly unhappy with this situation after what I paid for this device!
