Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]I'm also having this issue. I had to remove the card from H5B and insert it via an adapter on the laptop. annoying really.
so far my h5b has no issues with the current v1.55 and my w10 is up to date.

Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]I had this happening. I have version 1.55 firmware. I could see my camera, but not the files. But I knew they were there because I could play them from the camera. I downloaded GoPro Quik and it saw the files immediately.

Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]Here is the solution:
Connect the camera, go to the Device manager and find there your device, marked either as Unknown device or Stillimage.
Right-click on it and choose update the drivers, then choose the option for manual drivers selection and then you must go not for driver folder selection, but for drivers, already installed in the system.
There choose USB and in next page USB-MTP(or something like that).
Voila!
Everything works fine now!

Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]Hi,
Confirm that this solution works. I also had problems with Hero 5 and Windows 8.1.
In device manager open properties of your stillimage device-> update drivers->select from computer->select from list of known devices.
I had two MTP USB devices on the list and have chosen the second one. After that Hero 5 was finally recognised by the system.

Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]Hello!
I have a new gopro 5 Session
and the computer does not see it at all!
After the upgrade, it has become a MTC device.
I chose the driver manually. I reset the settings on the camera.
I upgraded to the manual mode and now the computer generally does not see it !!
The camera is worth a lot! I am disappointed!
What to do?
To pull out the flash card - it's bad.

Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]@Anonymous - After you connect the computer to the laptop, turn the camera on. If it's off, it stays in a charging mode. Once you turn it on, it will start to sync as long as you have Quik for Desktop installed on your computer.

Re: New Hero5 black can't connect over USB anymore after firmware update
[ New ]Had same issue on Windows 10 - oppened the Devices & Printers window, right clicked on the GOPRO HERO 5 there and "Troubleshot". Windows fixed it automaticaly.
Windows broke it, Windows fixed it.
Working as it worked at the beggining, straight from the camera to Quik
