PC Windows 10 (64bit), upgrade Hero 8 FW v2.0. After connecting the cable to the PC, I can no longer see the camera on the computer. Bomb! So now I'm just connecting via cell phone?

Uninstall your device off your machine.and when you reinstall it should show up.   How do I go about manually doing that?

Start/setting/device manager/portable drive uninstall mtb driver of gopro.

Unable to expand the specified link. The description does not state that it is necessary to set the new submenu Hero 8. (USB Connection: change "GoPro Connect" to "MTP"). Once changed, the problem is resolved.
