My Hero5 Screen is not working

My Hero5 Black Screen is blackout it’s totally not working. I’ve been to the store where i bought the unit but they told me that they cannot provide support to me since the unit is out of warranty. Is there anyway i can get any support for my camera since I cannot use it anymore. I can’t connect to view the camera even I’m connected via bluetooth. I can’t connect thru wifi because of password.

Your warranty Period 1 or 2 year?

 

 If  you are under two years. call or chat to GoPro. sounds like the store warranty  was for  sales, or the camera we do not know how your store handles that?  http://www.gopro.com/contactus  

 

 wifi  will beed to be  set up each time. my suggestions get to gopro on this.

You may also try these steps:

 

1. Check to ensure that the SD card is not inserted between the SD card slot and the battery as this can put pressure on the back of the touch display.
2. Perform a manual update. https://gopro.com/update/
3. After the update, perform a Factory Reset. Tap Preferences > Factory Reset, and then tap Next.

I have a similar problem. Screen works most of the time but goes black after power reset. Wifi is always not ready. Blue light constantly flashing. Can't connect. Camera name has been erased.

 

I have tried all the suggestions multiple times. Factory reset. Manual update, Power reset holding mode button down 10 seconds. Formatting SD card etc etc.

 

Really horrible product and support. My guess is there needs to be a bug fix. Last software update was 2017.

Ive done with all the recommendations and go through it one by one step by step, but didnt fix the error. Now my unit is unusable. Spending too much money on this gadget is not practical, i can say that this expensive gadget is disposable, coz ive been to many shops including the store where i bought this item is not helping at all and they dont know what to do and how to fix anyways. Very disappointed with this product. Atleast if they dont know how to fix unit they should have compensate the customer.

Stores today have advanced with  a  Technical shop. they  will offer services, and  may apply fees. on   certain  services and all.  You may visit the store you purchased for those details. a good example is BestBuy called the Geek squad..  If they can not figure it out, off it goes to GoPro.com and when  the Geek squad gets it back they call you....

 

You do need to reach out to a Rep at gopro and see tehir Options.

Not in my case, I’m situated here in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and I’ve visit the store where i bought my unit. Even though they have technical support team but no one knows the issues of go pro. They recommend me same thing reset, SD card position blah blah blah. The last thing they told me is to go to Dubai where there’s a direct technical support from GoPro Team. Do it means I need to book flight and hotel accommodation just get my unit fix? Not practical isn’t it?
