Losing the back display on the Hero 5 seems to be a common problem, likely due to the poor position of the micro sd card causing damage when the card is inserted a millimeter off-target. I did a firmware update just an hour ago, not realizing that it reset my wifi identity and password, which I can no longer see due to the lack of back screen display.
So now I don't even have access to a view through my smartphone to control the camera, delete files, etc.
What can you do for me?

Updating the firmware on the HERO5 Black does not reset the Wi-Fi information.
Do you still have the information saved on your camera's connection settings?
See if you can still get the Wi-Fi password from there.
Otherwise, you can contact our Support Team to check on your options.

Hi, I used to see a WiFi signal on my iPhone from GP54573074, but no longer see it with camera powered on. Don’t see it on my iPad’s WiFi signals either.
I suspect I toggled off WiFi on the camera while swiping blindly on the back of the camera. Any thoughts on how to enable WiFi on camera?
While swiping blindly, I was able to see the WiFi symbol on the front of the camera recently, but am unable to get any confirmation of my swipes by looking at front display now.

HI, after calling GoPro customer support & speaking with Eric (05907754), I found that the camera is past its warranty period.
