I just bought a Gopro Hero 6 with the intention of live streaming the content on an external monitor for teaching.
I did not know that as we use the HDMI out port we loose the image on the Gopro screen.
This is really a problem .
I was assured when I searched on the Web that this was not an issue.
It is the reason Gopro was my choice in regards to other comparable devices.
I downloaded the latest update and there is no way around the problem when setting Hdmi preferences options.
Is there a software correction ?
If there is no correction possible, I will return my Gopro.

Thank you for reaching out. Sorry to hear about what happened. At this time, there is no firmware or an update to it yet that would allow the camera screen to be up while connected to a TV or an external display. We have forwarded this to the team but we do not have information on when this will be changed.

Currently, the same behavior will be observed on the HERO7 Black.
We'll have this passed along to the team in charge.
Please continue to check our website for updates.

Hi, it is very important to have the possibility to see on the Gopro monitor when connected to HDMI. The live now is done with GoPro and Hdmi connected! I recommend Team Gopro, try to solve this problem!

Any ETA on this?
We need the display on while being connected via HDMI.
It's impossible to quickly skip inside a video while being connected to HDMI.
We need this for debriefing.
