Mode/hilight button sometimes seems stuck

I'm having a few problem with my Gopro Hero 6 Black. I've checked that I'm running up to date software, and I have tried to factory reset the unit.

The two main issues are:
1. After having captured something, either video, photo or time-lapse, the mode changes, just as if having pushed the mode/power button once.
2. While recording video or time-lapse, the videos are constantly being tagged every second. (just as if having pressed the mode button manually). In time lapse mode, this means I get the "HiLight already added" message repeatedly.

Even though I'm constantly seeing phantom presses, I don't experience any trouble powering the unit on or off. Mode changes also work as indented.

I got a replacement unit from GoPro support, which fixes this problem.

They might be able to help. 

For the meantime you may try this. 

Update your firmware manually.
