Me trying to reach GoPro Support to report a bug in the Hero 6 latest firmware

 

The bug: "Wireless connections" option gets turned off when I restart the GoPro. I can't access the GoPro anymore from the app unless I reenable this option by hand again.

We're working on a special project with the Hero 6. We're trying to use it in a outdoor webcamera setup (demo feed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyuETYRYEfA). As a part of this project, we will be installing cameras around the world in the most beautiful locations. They will be all streamed in a single feed with the location changing every 60 seconds.

 

We need GoPro's support on this matter. What department could offer us assistance?

 

1. We're having thermal issues. Even though the camera is placed in a weather proof box (for security) which has fans. It's still shutting down at 40-50C. Can you guys assist us in disabling this feature (at our own risk)? It's causing a lot of problems for us right now.

 

2. If the camera shuts down, it's a problem for us now as well. We have to monitor the live feed with a script which can detect lack of movement only after 20-30 seconds. The script then sends a signal to a relay switch which triggers the power button (which we had to cut apart to be able to control remotely - https://i.imgur.com/PysILaA.jpg). Could you guys add an option to automatically turn the camera back on if it has external power applied to it? (this would also helps those people who use gopros as dashcams in their cars).

 

We have a few other ideas for improvement, but it would be great to speak with you guys directly.

Where did my reply go??? I wrote a big reply to you, it was saved, and then started editing it, and now it's gone.

I agree that it would be best to get in touch with the team in charge - and we have the Connect page specifically for this purpose. @mariustanya we tried contacting you guys through the phone line. Your phillipines guys only do troubleshooting and have no way of reporting bugs/contact information back to you. We sent you snail mail through a post office (with the bugs) without any reply. We did use the contact form a while back, without any luck as well :(

 

Any help is appreciated at this point!
