I hope you can help.
I was wondering about the weired sound and bad quality when I used my Feiyu Tech G5 gimbal and I tried out the audio settings in the gopro but no usable audio. It sounds like a echo or a feedback from the mics facing the gimbal. I also tried to tape those mics - a bit better but still bad.
So I did find lots of videos on youtube and endless reports about the audio issues from the HERO 5 black. Even when you use the Gopro frame it is bad.
The gimbal makes no noise at all and the problem is only with the HERO 5 black. Not with the HERO 4 black.
So it is a huge Gopro problem and now we need a solution to get this fixed.
Don´t tell me that I have to buy the Gopro adapter for audio which is not usable with the gimbal as it would block the rotation and the side door would be open and not anymore waterproof.
I am really angry because I had a lot of Gopros so far but never had those problems.
And NO - I will not buy the Karma grip which has an internal battery not able to switch and just lasts 1 1/2 hours. This is a joke.
thanks for understanding

Lets try this:
Sound Manual and wind. that will be the best option, if a promic 3.5mm adapter is not what you want. Sorry but when you start blocking a mic the others work twice as hard. Been there and done that and know the feeling I no longer bother to use my gimbal and H5B

the Karma gimbal is not well made. Bulky, internal battery for 90min and no extension for longer distances like on the Feiyu Tech extender. This you need all the time if you want nice mooves on the ground or jib like records.
I cannot understand what they thought when designing the karma grip as there were already much better solutions on the market. Battery life is the biggest issue.
It is also not water resistant which will bring you in trouble if you want to use it in snow, at the beach or in regions with high huminity. All these situations are the most comon onces where you want to use a Gopro.
But anyway - the sound problem is even there with their own cage. So what....

I'm looking for a gimbal for my new H5B. I agree it is a must, hand-helt filming during movement is useless.
The FeiuyTech G5 has a design and featureset that attracts me, but the audio issues worry me. Are they really that bad? And there is no work-around yet?
What is the best gimbal choice then? EVO Pro? IMO the Karma is too large and has too bad battery capacity

Are there any updates on this?
Same here with the EVO SS wearable Gimbal.
I'm reading everywhere that we need to place our GPH5's in Audio/Wind mode.
This produces muffled audio on my our video playbacks.
I've written EVO about the Gimbal noise & they point back to the Camera Manufacturer for support. Meh?, WHAAAAT???
Is GoPro Support working on this issue?
Is anyone working on this issue instead of finger pointing?
How about xome collaboration?
