Looping

My hero 4 card fills and stops the recording when I am in looping mode.

I have tried the 5minute and max time settings, to no avail.

Guess I must be doing something wrong, but I dont know what!

The application is in using the camera on the campervan dash as a recorder during travel.

Can anyone give advice?

Glen

Re: Looping

Hello @glenm5786. See How Does Looping Work? for details on how looping happens during recording at different intervals. Thanks!

Re: Looping

Hi @glenm5786

Were you able to get the chaptered files though?

Are the files being saved on the SD card?

Thanks!

Re: Looping

Yes the camera is recording and the files are available.

My problem is that 'looping' does not happen as the old files are not automatically removed or over read

to allow a continuous operation of the camera until powered off for example.

Re: Looping

Yes, I know how looping is supposed to work, but mine is not overwriting and continuing to record.

The camera simply fills the card and then shuts down.

Guess I'm the lucky one with a faulty camera and no warranty.

Looping is not designed to overwrite files that have been saved. If you start a loop and then stop, that file is saved and the camera will only have the remaining amount of storage on the card to use.

Re: Looping

Well I am not saving any files.

I set the camera up with an empty card, and start looping recording (tried min. and max. time intervals) which proceed and continue

until the camera shuts down.(at nom. 1.5 hours later with the card capacity in use)

Trying to restart the camera promotes the display "card full", which suggest no looping is taking place.
