I am using my Hero7 with an application that powers it on/off through a Wifi connection. Problem is once it powers it off, Wifi stays off and it can't turn the Hero7 back on with Wifi. The application does not support the Bluetooth power on mode like the GoPro app.
I remember years ago I think you could fix Wifi ON even when the camera was Off/standby. Is there any way to stil do this?

@snowyriver0876, thanks for reaching out. Which app are you using to remotely control the HERO7 Black camera? Just to clarify, is this a third-party application and not the GoPro App?
Bluetooth acts as the initial handshake between the camera and the phone, as well as maintains the connection after a period of inactivity with the GoPro App. In older cameras, the Wi-Fi just stayed on the whole time if you had wireless turned on in the camera, which would drain the battery at a similar rate whether you were actively using the app or not.
This is now different with Bluetooth as it is used to maintain communication between the camera and app during standby periods. When the HERO7 Black is powered off, the camera's Wi-Fi is turned off as well.

@snowyriver0876, the camera's Wi-Fi will be disabled once the camera is powered off. The main purpose of this change is to help save battery life during inactive times. Moreover, if using the GoPro App, the connection will stay active for 8 hours (via Bluetooth) and you will have the ability to power the camera on within this standby period.
Additionally, you may also contact the third-party app's support team for further suggestions about their app given the situation.
