Karma drone wont power on Hero6

I updated the Controller and Camera, formatted and changed the SD card to a new one. I put the stabilizer in the grip and it worked perfectly. Drone powers on, I hold the power button 8 seconds and it flashes but the stabilizer doesnt move nor does the camera power on unless I manually power it on. I dont get a error message or red light or any other color light. The Drone just simply doesn't engage any response at all. I disconnected the controller from the drone to try to re-pair them but theres no response. Batteries are all charged also. I also factory reset the camera in the midst of the troubleshooting. I also connected the stabilizer with the camera attached to my computer so that type-c female connection works, not sure about the male connection in the drone. Anyone have an issue like this?

Re: Karma drone wont power on Hero6

Hi @andyh0266,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I can see that you're already on the right track as far as troubleshooting. This issue can usually be caused by either a faulty Stabilizer, the Karma Drone, SD card, or the camera itself. I have some additional steps for you to go through that might help.

  1. Ensure that you're using a recommended SD card for your camera.
  2. Disassemble the Karma Stabilizer from the Drone (Take the camera out of the harness, harness off stabilizer, and stabilizer off the drone). Reassemble everything.
  3. Ensure that all Karma devices are up to date.

    • Ensure that your Karma Controller is connected to a Wi-Fi Network.

    • Tap on the Home menu, then select About and choose Software.

    • It will tell you to install any update if available. Otherwise, it should give you the updated version number of the devices.

  4. Ensure that your HERO6 Black camera is up to date.

  5. Connect the Karma Stabilizer with the Karma Grip.

    • Perform a Karma Grip Reset.

      • Perform a Hard Reset.

      • Power off the Karma Grip and camera

      • Hold the mode/power button for 8-10 seconds.

      • If done properly, all of the LEDs on the grip will blink once and power off the grip.

      • Then all four LED lights will flash with a single red bottom light.

      • Continue holding and the Karma Grip and camera will power back on.

    • Perform a Calibration on the Grip.

      • Attach the camera to the Karma Grip.

      • Ensure Karma Grip is powered OFF.

      • Place the grip with the buttons facing up on a table with the stabilizer hanging over the edge of the table.

      • Press and hold the Tilt Lock button for 8 seconds.

      • The grip automatically powers on and begins calibration. When the battery status lights on the grip stop flashing, calibration is complete.

  6. If the steps above doesn't help, power off Karma Controller. Then power off Karma and remove Stabilizer from Karma.

  7. Format SD card in-camera -- Important: This erases all content on the card. Be sure to back up your files first. How to format your SD card.

  8. Make sure camera is powered off.

  9. Reinstall camera into Stabilizer.

  10. Install Stabilizer into Karma.

  11. Power on Karma and Karma Controller.
