Joining/overcapturing a 360 clip that straddles two 7-minute files on the iPhone App

So, the Fusion saves a long continuous video recording as separate 7-minute files.

If I use the Desktop Fusion Studio app, Studio will make them appear as one longer file. But I can't do proper Overcapture on the Desktop with Studio.

If I try to work with the 360 clips in the GoPro iPhone App, they appear as separate 7-minute files. If I want to perform Overcapture in my iPhone GoPro App on a video segment that spans two 7-minute files (for example a video clip that spans minutes 5:00 to 9:00 of a 10-minute recording), how do I do it? I cannot find a way to join the two 360 files together in the app so that my Overcapture will be smooth at the point where the files changes.

In the Desktop Studio, I am able to render a 360 video spanning minutes 5:00 to 9:00, but is there a way to get this rendered file back into the GoPro App of the iPhone so that I can do Overcapture on this file?

Hi Marius, thanks for the reply.

Adobe software is going to cost too much for me, and I think even if I use it, I would still rather perform overcapture on an iPhone or iPad vs any desktop software as it is much easier and more natural to move the phone around than having to painstakingly set keyframes throughout a clip.

It will be nice if there's a way to overcapture across the 7-minute mark of a long multi-part clip on iOS, or at least a way to save the overcapture metadata information at the point where the first 7-minutes clip ends, so that I can take that same information and apply it to the beginning of the second 7-minute clip to continue performing overcapture.

The actual joining of two overcaptured portions of the clip is no problem as I can do that with the SPLICE app.

Hello @tzd

Excellent question, indeed. At this time, there is no way to bring rendered content back to the GoPro App for further editing. As a workaround, you can use Fusion Studio and use the OverCapture plugin in Adobe Premiere Pro CC or Adobe After Effects CC.

Thanks,
Marius
