So I went out and bought a hero 7 black thinking the new hardware and software and new SD card would solve the problem but no! Still happens so now my library is all over the place with videos being incorrectly stored in my photo library.
I have read at least 10 other threads where people are having the same issue! And apparently it’s been 4 years and nothing has been done by GoPro to fix the GMT time offset issue when importing.
Is this being actively looked into? Is there a workaround as this issue is driving me crazy and many other GoPro users apparently

yes was reported by admin.
the problem is GoPro has not a timezone in the menu.
so you set a "local" time/date
the video metadata is UTC + local time, and yes the photos have right timestamp.
both PC and iPhone see the same deviation to UTC.
it is a known issue.
now... what I would expect is: the camera has GPS...GPS has time (stratum one rated synchronization source)...why don't GPS read the right time?

Surely this issue should have been fixed by GoPro by now considering some users were experiencing this and reporting this years ago. Even some acknowledgement they are aware of the issue and a fix is on the way would be good enough for me.

So, to have my video's creation date correctly displayed in my editor (Adobe Premiere Pro), I need to set the camera time to UTC. Then, when I record and import, my computer will add my local time zone to give me the correct creation date?
