For now, it's just guesses.
Hold the side button down until camera resets
Take the battery and SD card out and hold the side (mode) button for one minute. Insert battery and restart using the side button. Turn camera off and insert SD card. Turn on with side button.
Try a different card.
Press the side button and then simultaneously press the top shutter button. Hold both down for 30 seconds.
I really don't know... It's all guesses until you speak with a GoPro Support Team member.

What a joke! the camera is riddled with issue and they decided to make a special update about the highlights during a video?? this company is not going well...
Highlights is referring to the update, not the hilight feature of the camera that marks spots in your video. The highlights of the update is fixing the sd card incompatibility that is a known cause of many people's issues. It probably is the most important update they could have done right now.

So your saying the update fixes the issue with the mic adapter and now I'll have sound while having my mic plugged in???? I doubt it. May just wait for a few more people to mess up their gopros installing the new update before I go for it.
It doesn't say that any mic adapter issues are addressed. It says SD card stability. Are people having problems with the mic adapter, and if they are is it thought to be SD card related. Any review I have seen of the mic adapter seems to work fine. The only complaint is that it is large.
