I think I figured out why 1080p quality is bad

So in my testing of the new firmware I have discovered that hypersmooth algorithm compresses the image in such a way that small details are washed out and compression artefacts are present. With hypersmooth off, the quality on 1080p is much better and it seems the same as I remember with Hero 6 with stabilization on, so crop is not a factor as Hero 6 stabilization also cropped like 10%. So GoPro representatives, please pass this on, and GoPro IQ team, please enable in the settings Hero 6 stabilization algorithms on all resolutions or somehow raise the bitrate or tweak something on 1080p to combat this compression. For now, the higher resolution and bitrate of 2.7k seem to hide hypersmooth compression.
