I cannot register my hero3+ black

[ Edited ]

I go to the registration but the screen will not continue, is something wrong with the serial number?

Hi @nestorp11855,

I deleted your serial number on your post.

But I don't see any problem with your serial number.

Is there any error message?

Re: I cannot register my hero3+ black

So I was finally able to register my hero 3+ black, copied the update files to my mini SD, but when I inserted this in my unit and turned my camera on, it did not say “updating” and doesn’t seem to read the card, although I can watch the films taken when SD put in my laptop.  Any suggestions?

Hello @nestorp11855

For HERO3+, make sure to copy the UPDATE folder containing the files to the root of the SD card.

Folder name should be UPDATE.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

What does “copy to the root of the sd card” mean, I unzip the downloaded file then drag the update file into the sad card, the put the mini sd into the camera, but when I turn camera on, it does not flash update

Hi @nestorp11855,

Check your SD card first: https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations

Make sure you're using a recommended brand and model.

After that reformat your SD card.

When we say root of SD card meaning on the SD card itself without any folders.

You're actually doing it right.

Make sure that the file name is correct.

The folder should be named as UPDATE

If that won't work try this.

Reformat your SD card.

Copy all files inside the UPDATE folder and paste it to your SD card.
