I can't drag update files to No Name, to reset wifi password

When I get to the point to drag update files on my Hero3 to No Name, it won't let me put them there.

Ohh sorry @jordanh0643,

You should use SD card adapter.

May I know where did you get the steps so that we can correct that if ever it's from our website?

Thanks,

-Jay

Re: I can't drag update files to No Name, to reset wifi password

When the Hero3 was released computers utilized a standard drive connection when a media device was plugged in. Today, the standard is to connect these type of devices using a MTP protocol. Unfortunately, this prevents dragging and dropping files like you want to do for the update.

You need a USB or regular SD adapter. These are very cheap and usually come with microSD cards. If you don't have one, or can't borrow one from someone else, they can be purchased for only a few dollars.

Hi @jordanh0643,

Please check your SD card adapter.

It has a physical lock.

Make sure that the lock is turned off.

Thanks,

I don’t have an adapter. The steps just say to plug the camera into the laptop with the sd card in the camera.

Hi @jordanh0643

I just checked the website and seems like it's correct.

On step 4 it says you need SD card adapter.

If you still encounter any issue feel free to let us know.

Thanks,

Thanks for the help. Also do you know if go pro sells the rubber cover that goes over the sd card slot and other connections? Pretty sure my two year old threw it away
