How to reset to factory settings

I have a Hero 3+ camera and am looking to completely reset this to original settings so I can start from scratch, I have forgotten my password and the email address I originally registered with is no longer active.. is there any way I can do this? It’s been years since I last used it and would love to again! Thanks

You can definitely reset your camera's Wi-Fi name and password by doing a manual update. Visit this page: https://gopro.com/en/us/update

Once you get there, select the camera model that you have - HERO3+.

After choosing the camera model, select "Update your camera manually" then put in your camera's serial number, and your existing email address (not necessarily the old one that is no longer active). 

Follow the next steps as indicated on-screen. Let us know how it goes.
