How many amps of power does an external USB battery pack need to provide in order to shoot in 4K?

I am shooting 4K 30 fps with all other features default and WIFI and Voice off on a GoPro Hero 5 Black.

What amp output do you recommend for an external USB battery pack?

Although you will find 2.4amp output, 2.1amp is more common and should be sufficient. Try the anker range they are very reliable although I have only charged my GoPro when off with it.

Thanks, epicallyepic, I just tried a few and it seems the ones which supply power automatically, which are low amps, seem to work fine.

The mophie one I have, which doesn't charge unless you press a button, is not very good and doesn't seem compatible. I have found a solution to my issue now. So far I'm now able to record 3 hours straight with 4K and this is what I need. The chip I have only allows for 4 hours anyways (128 GB). I'm shooting my wedding and will be using this setup.

Good info to know. I plan on reviewing the GoPro where I bought it so others who might be buying it will be aware of the limitations.
