How do I install the proper Codecs to my Premiere elements so I can edit my Hero 7 footage (Up to 4k

I just got a gopro hero 7, I use Premiere elements 14 and the only footage that I can drag and drop into my editing software is 1080p and up to 60fps everything else gives an error when I drag it in, something shows up like I don't have the proper codec for hevc footage or just a generic error, likely both errors are the same problem. So how do I install codecs onto my premiere elements for up to 4k gopro footage and up to 240 fps footage?

If you are using Windows, you need to go to the Microsoft store and download the HEVC codec. You also need to have a processor that supports HEVC and be on Windows 10.

You can convert your videos with handbrake (free to download and use) if your system can't process HEVC.

You can learn more about HEVC in these articles.
