Tried every trick from this post, no dice.
Called GoPro, they seem to accept now that if you have a recommended SD and have tried the manual update then there must be an issue with the camera.
Still facing a 2 week RMA process or just returning to the seller I got it from. Disappointed.

We checked with Support and we see that you contacted them past the 30-day money back guarantee period and went through the warranty replacement process. If you are still having issues with the replacement camera, it would be best to continue working with Support. There is a workflow that they follow to make sure that the issue is resolved completely, specially for persistent issues.
