My dot is red. I know there was another person that had a red dot too. I can't see it when I play back the videos but haven't played with the camera much because of the red dot. Kind of waiting to see if this a software issue or sensor chip issue. Since there doesn't seem to be any available to exchange it with I guess I'll have to deal with it for a while before I return it. Bummer!

I had the same issues too. However, the recording doesn't seem to catch the artifacts so it seems something is up with the GoPro's display. It only happens in SuperView too as far as I know.

@kkdx try some long exposure modes like night timelapse video.

You are right. I playback the videos and photos also had the red/blue dot. So, are you still waiting on RMA??

I have several issues with my 8 too, blue and red dots, 4k60 stops recording after a second, hit or miss if the video flies are playable on the camera or pc, charge and recording not working either, but weridly night lapse photo when plugged in works all night, al be it with blue and red dots

 

Think the issue has a lot to do with heat as the camera is getting quite warm

So i've increased the exposure and changed the white balance in Gopro studio.It still looks crap

Thanks for sharing a sample video.

If you haven't yet, lease run a manual software update. https://gopro.com/en/us/update/hero8-black

Once done, reset the camera to its factory settings. https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/Reset-Camera-Settings/ta-p/388279
