Hero8 Black shooting date problem with iPhone

When I preview the photo in Gopro apps, the shooting will be show in future date(Actually, it was UTC+8. Lets say the shooting date on 25th 16:00, the preview will be show the date is on 26th. My iPhone XS & Gopro were use the lastest update and I factory format Gopro & sd card already. By the way, I check this problem in Android system, Android was withoutany  problem, the date is correct.

Re: Hero8 Black shooting date problem with iPhone

[ Edited ]

hi,

I know, it is annoying.

when I go to a city break if I download the gopro on my iPhone, I'll find the +timezone difference in time between the

videos iPhone = photos iPhone = photos Gopro = video Gopro - timezone

I'm in UTC+2 timezone.

at 16:31 I made a photo and a short video.

video has the UTC+2+2 so 18:31

photo has the correct UTC+2 16:31

it is not the iPhone, it's the GoPro that mark the timestamp as UTC, without timezone substracted

if I look into video exif in DivX for the video GoPro take at 16:31

General
Complete name : D:\DCIM\100GOPRO\GX011369.MP4
Format : MPEG-4
Format profile : Base Media / Version 1
Codec ID : mp41 (mp41)
File size : 38.4 MiB
Duration : 7 s 363 ms
Overall bit rate : 43.7 Mb/s
Encoded date : UTC 2019-11-25 16:31:36
Tagged date : UTC 2019-11-25 16:31:36 ..... here if add +2 you will find the annoying 18:31....future in time

if I look into video exif in DivX for the video iPhone take at 17:36

General
Complete name : C:\tmp\IMG_1772.mov
Format : MPEG-4
Format profile : QuickTime
Codec ID : qt 0000.00 (qt )
File size : 6.16 MiB
Duration : 1 s 800 ms
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
Overall bit rate : 28.7 Mb/s
Encoded date : UTC 2019-11-25 15:36:02
Tagged date : UTC 2019-11-25 15:36:04   --- this is correct local time UTC+2

windows cope with this, and it is fine...

just me,

robert

windows_date.JPG

video timestamp has the current timestamp + 2h so 18:31 instead of 16:31  ...it is a bug

video_timestamp.jpg

photo is fine, correct timestamp 16:31

Re: Hero8 Black shooting date problem with iPhone

@megapeak8367

Hi, this is fixed in 6.7

- Fixed: Dates for videos shot before 8AM PST will show up with yesterday's date in Camera media
- Fixed: Exported media has timestamp off by 8 hours

This is currently in review by Apple. If you want it before you can join our beta testing community.

To beta test GoPro App you will have to fill out a NDA first. Here: https://goprorc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3dRVirHRT9IfmBf
I'll add you to our testers' list when it's done.

Beta process:
- iOS: install TestFlight on your device, invitation will come per email
To share feedback and for follow up, ask access to
- iOS GROUP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/goproapp.ios.beta

It's a place where beta users share their feedback / ideas / bug reports / videos / questions etc...
We can then do the follow up on the Facebook group and per Messenger, it's best for me to help users that way.
