Brand new hero7 black, first time using it. Worked fine on the trail for just over 5mins, then either the stabilisation errored, or something overheated or I dont know what, but it has made the footage unusable.
It was 2.7k 50fps, protune on, limited iso 400. Firmware was updated to latest.

Sorry to hear about the trouble, @sweetoasis37628. Do you get the same results when playing back the video directly from the camera? Did it happen to all of the videos?
Looking at the footage, it seems that there was a problem with the stabilization after the first 5 seconds of the video. I'm not quite sure what exactly might have caused this issue. However, reinstalling the firmware update of the camera can help correct any errors with the current software installation. Follow the manual update instructions specified on this article: Software Update Instructions for HERO7 Cameras
- NOTE: Make sure the UPDATE folder is unzipped/extracted, before placing it on the SD card. If the folder is compressed, the camera will not be able to read it.
- Ensure the UPDATE folder does not have any additional characters in the folder title, i.e. "UPDATE (1)". The camera will only recognize a folder titled "UPDATE", in upper case letters with no additional characters.
Let us know how it works for your.

Its happened on both clips that were created that day. The first clip worked fine for 5mins, then it went weird. The second clip (which was started 30s, after the 1st clip ended) worked fine for about 10seconds before it went as well. Thats why I was thinking it was something to do with overheating.
Ive not checked it on the GoPro, but have opened the clips in vlc, mplayerx, and Premiere, as well as transcoded it with Media Encoder, and it always happens in the same place on both clips.
Ill try reinstall the firmware, and see how that goes.

@sweetoasis37628, if in case the problem persists after reinstalling the firmware of your camera, given that this is a recent purchase and out-of-the-box issue, kindly reach out to the retailer so they can help you with the next steps.
