Hero5 going into burst mode randomly

I have a brand new camera which seems to into burst mode randomly when I say the voice command "GoPro take photo". Some are single pictures, some are scores of pictures. This happens every time I go out on a shooting session, but not every photo gets multiplied.

For the sake of clarity here, I use the voice command mode only as I have the camera mounted on my head *and* I do NOT have it on burst mode. It is very frustrating to have the SD card fill up quickly because of this error and a waste of time having to delete multiple files.

Re: Hero5 going into burst mode randomly

Hi @martinphx

I am sorry for any troubles caused.

Is this a HERO5 Black or a HERO5 Session?

See if a manual update will correct the issue. https://gopro.com/update

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Ej

Re: Hero5 going into burst mode randomly

Hi Ej,

I did a manual update, yet the issue continues. I would say about 80-90% when I give the command to take a picture, my Hero 5 takes 32 shots. In addition, the voice commands are rather glitchy. The camera will either respond to non-commands or the opposite, will not respond to commands. For example, I will be talking to someone and say something that does not even remotely sound like a command and the camera will respond with an action. In other cases, I will say "GoPro start recording" two or three times before it responds accordingly. In either situation, for the sake of clarity here, I do not have a speach impediment, nor do I have an accent. Moreover, there are no interfering sounds in the background.

Would please care to comment? Thank you again for your help.

Hi @martinphx

Thanks for trying it out.

Please reset the camera to it's default settings then test it again.

**Tap Preferences > Camera Defaults > Reset.

NOTE: Resets all settings except for date/time, and your camera's username/password.

If it's still the same, let our Support Team isolate the issue further.

You may reach out to them by phone or chat. https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs
