Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

Thanks! That worked great!

The TS column shows zeros. Also, how can I change the code so it doesn't produce the temp.csv file?

Here's the link to a sample video:

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

Thanks, that file was useful. I've now added the Milliseconds column to the GPS file by default, it's actually quite important.

For skipping the Temp file, you could just remove, or comment all references to temperature in the code, that is (from my current file): 135 to 140, 109 to 111, 44 to 49. I have not tested it.

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

Awesome. Is 'heading' part of the available data? I could just derive it from the coordinates, but I figured I could ask. Thanks

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

I don't think heading is available straight away, but you can have a look at stilldavid's code: https://github.com/stilldavid/gopro-utils/

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

Okay. I updated my GoPro firmware to v2.00 today and now the csv files are empty. Here's a sample video:

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

That's probably because when compiling, you're still using bits of stilldavid's code that are not ready for 2.00.

Can you try with my package? http://tailorandwayne.com/GPMD2CSV.zip

You can update my full code from my github: https://github.com/JuanIrache/gopro-utils

Also, we might want to have these technical discussions in the metadata group so that it is easily accessible: https://community.gopro.com/t5/Hero5-Metadata-Visualisation/gp-p/Hero5MetadataVisualisation

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

When you want to get the GPS Data as xml, look at ZGCam this generates an xml with the Gps-Informations in the MP4 stream.

ZGCam is open source : https://github.com/maza70/ZGCam/releases/tag/V1.0.0.0-Beta2

Re: Hero5 Session Telemetry

Thank you! This looks like the thing I have been looking for.

Just a note, I had to replace in the bat file .\ffmpeg and .\gpmdinfo with full directory path. So if someone else is getting an error "windows cannot find '.\ffmpeg'....", try editing the bat file.
