Try just plugging the SD card directly into the computer. Can it import then? If so, finish the import, format the card, put it back in the camera, take a test video, and try to import through the camera again.
You could also try running a manual update to the camera using the link HERE.
Let us know if the problem continues, but hopefully that will take care of it!

No Micro SD slot or adapter.
Tried to sync with my iPhone 5S, but it wouldn't due to resolution being too low on phone.
Went back to USB connection on computer and it worked.

Yeah, appears to be working now. Had been using Photos until it randomly stopped. Downloaded GoPro Desktop App which never worked. Then did previously mentioned post and now it works on Desktop App and with Photos.

Nice. Well I'm glad to hear it's working for you now! Photos will work to import footage but it does change the file format which can sometimes cause complications if you want to edit the footage in Studio. To change that, all you'd need to do is pull the footage out of Photos to another folder on your hard drive.
Other than that you should be good though!

I had the same issue as was described in the post. After trying import with Pics and GoPro App, I went through the videos on my GoPro and recognized that one file as corrupted. The video was blacked out and would not play. I simply deleted that corrupted file and successfully imported all other videos with GoPro App. Hope this helps.

This is a common problem across various GoPro products and unfortunately something GoPro haven't taken enough proactive steps to address.
There is much discussion around formatting SD Cards but who wants to erase data they have just captured??! This is especialy true if your GoPro previously imported just fine. Sometimes you can end up with a corrupt file, but this is rare.
Anyway, moving on, try deleting the 'appsettings' file in the GoPro folder "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\GoPro. This fix has helped me get past this bug and being much happier with my GoPro again.
Good luck! :-)
