Re: Hero 8 - Windows 10 can see the device but won't cooperate

I tried it and I tried to format it too but it does not work. But intresting because if I use only the mem card reader with my microsdxc the system recognize like a gopro and quik start automatically. But when I connect my gopro with the same card then nothing happen.

Re: Hero 8 - Windows 10 can see the device but won't cooperate

ok guys here is the temporary solution until gopro release new firmware ;

First of all its a common error if you are using latest chipset Asus motherboard on your computer.

it is going to be much slower transfer rates but at least we can upload our files using a usb cable

* Keep gopro on and connected to usb

* install Oracle VirtualBox and launch it in the background (you don't need to do anything just launch it)

* check your gopro driver , it should appear now

* double click on it and you should see the files and transfer files to another folder.

Con Oracle VirtualBox, funciona, pero es extremadamente lento.

de todas maneras se ahorra tiempo ya que no hay que sacar la microsd.

Gracias. Saludos!

[ Edited ]

Hi.

Tried:

Fresh Win 10 installation and totally updated.

Tried all USB ports on my Z390 Mobo, and tried 4 different USB3 cabels.

Updated chipset drivers, with the ones from Intel.

Formatted card i Cardreader, and also via my Go pro 6.

Nothing works, It's at firmware/MTP driver issue...

Working workaround:

Connect GoPro 6 to external USB2 Hub, and connect the USB2 Hub to USB on MoBO.

Transferrate is slower than direct via Mobo's USB3.1, but it works.Smiley Indifferent

Come on GoPro, please fix the issue.

Re: Hero 8 - Windows 10 can see the device but won't cooperate

Just bouht GoPro hero 8 today. Decided to finally gest the best action camera on the market. Guess I was wrong. It only works on 1 out of 3 PC's in my house (two have USB3.1 connections, and the one that works has the old ones). I'm so dissapointed GoPro didn't fix this issue in 3+ months. At this point I don't know if they're so ignorant or they messed up the camera so bad that it can't be fixed with a software update.

Anyways, my laptop has a thunderbolt connection so I will try that when i get the cable.

So the most comfortable "fix" for this problem was buying Thunderbolt 3 cable, it's even faster than usb. Get it if you have a thunderbolt jack in your pc. Keep in mind that simple USB-C to USB-C does not work.
