I tested a few other GoPro 8’s locally and they all have this problem.
GoPro needs to address this immediately as simply replacing the units is not the fix. Within the past few weeks there have been a lot of YouTube videos surfacing showing this issue. Just search for “GoPro 8 blue dot or pixels”.
Anyone else having this problem post it up here. Again, for me it shows up on the display screen when video mode is selected and in lower light conditions.

@activedawn186, sorry to hear about the trouble with your GoPro camera. We try to help out as best as we can. I was able to locate your Support case based on the email address associated with your GoPro Support Hub account. The representatives assisted you with the troubleshooting steps; reinstalled the firmware to correct errors with the current software installation, however, it didn't help resolve the issue with your HERO8 Black camera. The last Support agent that you spoke with suggested to exchange your camera at the retailer for a faster turn around and since it was a recent purchase. If you need further assistance on this process, please contact our Support Team through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs so we can help get you up and running with a working camera.
@thornoughton, the image quality issue in the camera can usually be resolved by manually reinstalling the firmware update. If the issue persists after going through the suggested troubleshooting steps, our Support team will be able to assist you with the next steps. You may reach out to them through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs to initiate a callback request or chat with one of the representatives.
