Hero 8 Black - battery life issue (while device is off) [ New ]

Hi, I've got perhaps an odd question, but trying to figure it out.

Got a Hero 8 not too long ago and what I've seen is the battery drops while the GoPro is off.  

I get it, while the GoPro is on, even when not recording, it'll drain.  

But off, is there something I could have turned on, that even when off, it'll draw down the battery?  I looked for posts on this or some link on what "not" to enable if you want long battery life while off, but didn't find anything - most were on a bigger draw while the GoPro was on, and that's no big deal for me for now.  

Just yesterday I had the battery charged a few days prior and went to use it and it was really low and once I tried to record, ran out of juice.

Do you observe the same if the battery is removed from the camera?

Fully charge the battery then leave it out overnight. 

Check the battery percentage.

If you haven't yet, try running a manual update. https://gopro.com/en/us/update/hero8-black
