Hero 8 Black and Max very unreliable with Smart Remote [ New ]

This problem persists to this day with NO SOLUTION.  I can't tell you how many epic video clips I have missed because of how unreliable both these cameras are in terms of turning on with the Smart Remote.  See this topic from earlier- I have the exact same symptoms reported in this topic on BOTH cameras, and I am getting extremely frustrated.

GoPro- when are you going to address this issue that has now been going on for more than two years?
