They don’t include one because SD cards are expensive. Mine are only 32GB and they already cost around $30 each (Lexar 633x). It does say on the Hero 5 box that you need a Micro SD, not sure about the newer ones though.

Thankyou Maplepanda, much apprecitaed.
I understand what you are saying about its written on the packaging, but i still feel it wouldnt hurt for the sales person or shop should make mention of it. Im not blaming Gopro lol.
I called back to the store and purchased one yeserday and the head sales rep wasnt too pleased with his junior as he may have missed a sale lol.
All is good though, no dramas or complaints.....except maybe that Gorpo could have some prnted instructions for us oldies and slower folk lol.
I have now loaded the card and its allowing me to take movies and photos etc.
Im now struggling to download the onto my computer, or rather my computer isnt picking up that a device is plugged in to it, as is usually the case with my other camera.

Hopefully your SD card came with an adapter. I've found that using the adapter works much better (and faster) than plugging the camera in directly (they each use a different protocol to connect). Glad to hear that you are up and running!
