Hero 7 black stabilization issue

The video EgBTvH1IQk) is from the camera that was returned for the stabilization error that shifts the image while the motorcycle is cornering.

The video MNVpgS40sk8 is from the replacement camera, It has the same problem, maybe even worse.

Re: Hero 7 black stabilization issue

Hi everyone!

The issue on motion blur effect in low light situations is set to be corrected by a firmware update in December.

Watch out for new information through https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/Software-Update-Release-Information

Thanks!

Ej

Re: Hero 7 black stabilization issue

@fredgilb - Thanks for flagging this. We have seen this in some other customers' videos and have reported this issue to our teams. Hopefully, we can get this issue resolved for you soon.

Re: Hero 7 black stabilization issue

It seems like the kind of issue that firmware might resolve. (I hope!)

Re: Hero 7 black stabilization issue

Resolution like  what settings we all should use, or RMA the persons camera for another one?

Re: Hero 7 black stabilization issue

I've got exactly the same issue. When hypersmooth's working this thing happens. So the camera is pretty useless for motorcycle videos at the moment...My old SJcam with EIS is doing way way better.
I read some other topic about panning issue which is about the same problem and some people were claiming that it was better on older firmware. Mine is 1.51 and it looks like exactly as fredgilb's issue.

Re: Hero 7 black stabilization issue

Only one firmware was released FW 1.00 excluded hypersmooth in 4K higher res and fps so maybe that was why some had better use out of it?   if the flar shows and yoyu're hypersmoothin then that can ruin te shot, so yep  gopro needs to release newer firmware to allow standard EIS, hypersmooth and No EIS.
