So I just got my first GP.
Nice camera, if it wasn´t for the fact that keeping the battery från draining is extremely difficult. First and foremost, the camera just won´t keep itself shut off. Whenever I turn it off, it turns on again after a few seconds. This presents the problem that when I run around my trails and pick up the camera to shoot the battery is drained. Bummer indeed!
So I´ve tried to read up. Either the camera pings my phone (to upload data) or the other way around.
Naturally I´ve tried shutting off wireless connections and that works but I also got a GoPro Remote and need the wireless to work. I shut off bluettoth on my phone (works) but then my bluetooth headphones...you get it. It´s simply not acceptable.
I´ve shut off auto upload. Voice control i off. Everything is off except wireless. Still keeps turning on when wireless is "on". I tested it last night and at bedtime the camera was at 100% battery, I shut it off and when I woke up it was at 3%... I cant find anything in the app that stops the phone from pinging my GoPro either. BTW I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and have reinstalled the app as well (to no avail).
What should I do?

facory reset the camera its located in Reset. Keep off wireless, keep off voice wake on and keep voice off. if the camera turns on now then it may be best to get wit ha rep at gopro that you can futher dcsuss the issues you are experiencing and a reoslution can be offered. Do you know how to get wit ha GoPro Rep?
Thanks for the reply. The problem is not that it turns on when wireless is "off". It turns on with wireless "on".
Then you might say: "But hey, just turn wireless off then". But I want it to stay off in my pocket when I´m out running and riding, I don´t want to have to go into settings to turn on wireless just to get my GoPro remote to work.
In short, when I´m using the camera (mostly off, but turn it on when I want to shoot to preserve battery) I don´t want it to die in my pocket.
To put it bluntly, when it´s off it should be off until I do something actively to power it on or ping it with my app.
No, it turns on spontaneously even when I don´t touch the phone or camera. Just tested it now.
1. Turned off the app on my phone (swiped it away)
2. Turned off camera
3. A few seconds later, the camera turned on
5. Five minutes later, it turned off (5 min automatic shutdown)
6. A few seconds later it turned on again
7. 5 min later, turns off
8. Ten seconds later, turns on.
So apparently something causes it to turn on all the time.
