Hero 7 Black - no audio sometimes / no auto off when plugged into computer
[ New ]Hi,
A few weeks back we finally dove in and bought our first Gopro - the Hero 7 Black. I've noticed a few odd issues with it, some of which seem to have been fixed with the 1.61 firmware, but there are a couple more I'm not sure about.
The biggest issue we had was on the 1.51 firmware, which relates to the audio. It was turned on, but not responding to voice commands, which should have been the first sign of something wrong. I used the button to start recording a video, but when playing back, there was no audio. It's like the internal microphone was just completely disabled. Turning it off and on again resolved the issues, however we are now worried if it will happen again, as the cause is completely unknown, and we cannot replicate the issue. This was in 1920x1080, 50fps (PAL), if that makes a difference (see attached file properties).
The other current thing I would like to raise is that the other day, I turned on the camera and plugged it into the computer, both to retrieve videos and to perform the firmware update. I left it plugged in, and assumed once charged it would turn itself off (as the computer was back in sleep mode), and disable further charging. It did not. Instead I later went to unplug it, and it was very, very warm, and still switched on.
Finally I will mention something that seems to have been resolved by the firmware update, but struck me as very odd in the 1.51 firmware. When the camera was in photo mode, if you used the voice command "gopro record video", it would instead just take a photo.
Any help on the first two issues would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Simon

Re: Hero 7 Black - no audio sometimes / no auto off when plugged into computer
[ New ]@biqua - Both of these issues can be related to issues with the SD card. If you have another card from our list at https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations that you can use, give it a try and see if the issues clear up. If not, our team at https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs can do some additional troubleshooting.
As for the voice command issue, we'll try to replicate it here and pass it on to our teams to look into.
Thanks,
Jeff

[ New ]Hi @jefft,
Thanks for the reply. I don't know where my wife put the packaging, but from the retailer's website the SD card is model SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA.
This is a Sandisk Extreme 128GB UHS 3, which is not in your list - are you aware of any compatibility issues with this model? It was recommended by the retailer - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/sandisk/sandisk-extreme-microsdxc-128gb-160mb-s-memory-card/346857/
Cheers,
Simon

[ New ]Still, I'll see how things go with firmware 1.61, and contact the support team if we still have issues.
