I just purchased and updated software on a HERO7 Black, so it's running 01.70 firmware. When I attach the micro HDMI cable the screen goes black and the icon on front changes to the square thing with the triangle at the bottom but 2 different monitors I've attached say 'NO HDMI SIGNAL.' I've unplugged the cable and changed the video output settings to LIVE, MONITOR, MEDIA - all 3 choices output nothing.
I've also tried different video modes, 4K, 1080, 720 at different frame rates. Still nothing. Is this GoPro defective or is there a setting I'm missing?
I've tested with a GoPro Hero 4 Black and the cable and monitors work fine with that - live video is output immediately.
The 2 monitors I've tested are an ASUS and a SmallHD 501. Again, the older GoPro works fine so the monitors and cables should be fine.

I did actually find another monitor that I have and the HDMI works. However, WOW what a delay? What is up with that? I read other posts about this issue and honestly 3 or 4 seconds of delay makes the HDMI output feature completely useless!! The delay using the app to my iPhone is only like a half-second using wi-fi so that might work temporarily for what I'm trying to do - just to get a larger external display for more precise shooting scenarios.
Maybe GoPro will fix this delay but even when they do, it won't work on my SmallHD?? Seems totally stupid that the HERO7 won't support it while other older HEROs do.

@fastcave6218, the delay on HDMI output display on HERO7 Black camera could be due to the HyperSmooth. We had this feedback through this thread about the said issue and the information has already been forwarded to our team. We'll keep everyone posted as soon as we have any update available.
