Of course I tried all these steps. Spent a fortune on 3 compatible SD cards. But ALL THREE GOPRO's HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS! So I have little expectation on what customer support can do.
I'm selling mine, going back to the Sony FDR-X3000 which never let me down.

When "recording" a video with ANY OF MY THREE GoPro Hero 7's, this is what often happens.

Ok, I tried manual update (with emphasis on MANUAL, so not through GoPro Quick), and started using the GoPro Super Suit (as recommended by GoPro support), and it seems that the problem is solved (although I only had one recording session). Will keep posting my findings here. Unfortunately buying two Super Suits was pretty expensive. My Sony FDR300 never has any problems, even in much, much colder weather.
