I was very excited and bought Black7. Prepared to go at morning to make a video, and....
...and found dead camera. Recharged, turnded off power plug. At evening I found baterry dead again.
As I see many people has battery drain problem. No any wireless connections, no voice commands etc.
Now question - is it a joke?
I have multiple battery operated devices, never ever I saw something awefull like that. Some devices keep baterry good for weeks, another ones for monthes when powered off.
If you wanna that people ported battery out of camera provide free at least plastic case for it. I have GoPro1, GoPro2, and they was working fine. What is that nonsence with drained in few ours battery???
You should give poeple charger and extra battery for free and fix it in future firmware. For $400 it is very frustraiting experience!

There is a topic on this, there is a place to complain to gopro at the very bottom line gopro.com/feedback. and GoPro may or may not come in but a Moderator will simply say I am sorry to hear...... they won't offer you a fre battery or charger they'll tell you to call or chat with gopro.com/support/contactus
GoPro should offer that oprion, they do, maybe they should start charging us to add a battery then giving it to us.
If you turned on the camera, you played with something. where weshould grab the camera and rightto the charger. So my suggestion is to makesure we all have it set up correctly to find what caused yourdrain
wake up voicecommand
not watching thecamera correctly go off.
these are just some of the issues us Users experience. not all do have the battery drain andmost do.. or vica- verca.
I understand you got an issue and love for gopro to offer all a charger.

Allegedly the Samsung-Vietnam batteries are preferred.
They have distinctive creases as shown, +/- polarity marked at the connections with a mold nipple nearby on the raised portion of that end, On the other end, if you lift up the removal flap, there is another nipple there too (you can tell if Samsung without even removing the battery from the camera!). The Dongguan-China batteries also have a larger removal flap than the Samsung, and it has a more metallic finish to it.

Here you can see the Samsung-Vietnam polarity markings near the connector, as well as the nearby mold nipple (to the right). The other nipple on the removal flap/tab end looks the same.
