I have a NEW out of the box Hero 7 Black which i bought in October 2019 - took it on holiday and recorded a few times only to discover that the footage Glitches badly ..... Im not a Trech kind of guy howerver i went onto Youtbue to research a few things and discovered that i can do a factory reset - done a factory reset Same issue - bought a brand new Sandisk Extreme 64gb card v30 U2 Formatted the card in the camera then recorded again Still the same issue ? ? ? i was recording in 1080p 60fps ...........
It seems so sad that i see hundreds if not thousands of problems with these cameras - OK so im not Totally savy on the in.s and out`s of Video Recording ..i never set out to be a Videographer although i do realise that i need to have some sort of level of understanding how things work - Having said all that, i thought it would be reasonably easy to simply take some footage of my loved ones then watch it on the TV or PC ,,apparently NOT.......
I dont want to spend the next 9 months of my life back and forth on forums until i gain a Masters degree on how to make the camera work,,it`ll probaly take a month or two just to learn all the technical jargon
seems to me GoPro have serious issues with these cameras .....Am i going to have to be stuck with >boot it up>format>factory reset>buy ANOTHER new card> re format>re install update>re format card>another factory reset blah blah blah.........
Is it too much to ask to be able to take some footage straight out of the box and then review it ? ? i am not asking much of the Camera and im certainly not pushing it beyond what its meant to do ........
Can anyone help please before it goes back in the box and returned to the Shop ........
Any help would be great
Thanks in advance

May I know how did you update your camera?
Have you tried updating it manually?
Also what device are you using for playback?
Will you be able to send a raw video so that we can check?

Thank you for your speedy reply ....
i updated it per instruction as seen on YouTube - ie downloaded app for iphone paired via bluetooth etc
i did not do it manually - i would need instructions on how to do it that way "Im a Noobee"
i transfered the footage onto an external Hard Drive > USB into laptop > clicked play and watched via whichever player is on the laptop ?
I am not to sure how to insert the Video - However i did go on to take a look at a piece of footage on my laptop and accidentally hit the ""View in mini mode"" while i was watching it in mini mode the Footage appeared to Play with NO gliches ? ? ?
can you explain how that can be please ?

Looks like a hardware compatibility problem.
Can you try to record a video with a lower resolution?
Try to shoot a 720 with 60 frames/fps if your computer will be able to play it without an issue.
Also if you have a file that is really glitching please upload it to any cloud storage so that you will be able to share the link.
Or upload it on YouTube.
With regards to manual update you can try it if your camera is really glitching on any device or even online platform such as YouTube.
