I have a Hero 7 Black which when new in December generally operated fine. I feel as the firmware updates rolled in, new issues began.
First, the biggest issue I have is after recording a video occationally the camera cannot be switched off by pressing the power button, also it will not shut down (auto shut down is set to 5 mins), I have to remove the battery to shut it down. This occurs regularly.
Second issue is when I have been recording and have switched off the camera many hours later the camera will be warm and has drained the battery to about 20% after 8 hours. Sometimes the camera will power off then immediately power back on which will also cause the battery to drain if I am able to power if off without having to remove the battery. This occurs rarely.
Third issue is I cannot use quick capture, when I enable this setting and press the record button the camera goes into a cycling loop of shutting down and restarting, it also appears to show that the memory card is full when there is no recordings on the card.

Forth issue is the camera can be unresponsive after formatting the card, it will not record of power off unless I hold the power button for atleast 30 seconds.
The camera firmware is 1.70, I have installed it manually, memory card is a Sandisk Extreme SDSQXAF-032G-GN6MA, video setting is 1080 50fps linear, bluetooth, gps, quick capture, voice control etc are alway switched off. I have never had any issues with any footage that has been recorded.

The reported looping, happens when the camera(with the battery) is plugged in.
Try taking the battery out, then initiate QuikCapture. It should work.
Let us know how it goes.
As for the rest of the issues, try re-flashing the software.
If it's still the same, it's best to reach out to our Support Team.

Hello, I have a Hero 7 Black, only two weeks old. Today I reied to take a time lapse video, and the camera would only take one exposure, and then it was unresponsive. I cannot power the camera down.

@aragon1006is this looping normal and to behave in this way? i confirmed looping happend to my camere if plug in with battery inside camera when shutter button is pressed. BUT only happen when my powerbank is less than 10%. However when adaptor to the wall socket power supply, even with battery in the camera its work great with no looping issue.
