Hero 7 Black Battery Issues
[ New ]I want to point out a battery/software issue with the Hero 7 black. I have been able to do the firmware update and after letting it charge overnight, it would not charge to 100%, then would drop to 80%, then 0% but would keep working. I would turn off then on then battery would be back to 80%.
Apparantly I am not the only one. Search youtube and you will see others have had the same issue.

I am expecting a firmware update to address this problem.

Re: Hero 7 Black Battery Issues
[ New ]Hello @greenboost65412,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and for making sure that your camera is updated to the latest firmware. To further isolate the issue, see how it goes when you charge your camera without the SD card. Also, which SD card are you using? Is it among the recommended ones on this list?
Hope to hear back from you.
Thanks,
Marius

Re: Hero 7 Black Battery Issues
[ New ]Hello @mariustanya
I have done a firmware update.
I will test charging without the sd card.
I will test the battery life with wifi and voice control off.
The sd card I am using is the SanDisk Ultra Plus 32gb
Will update.

Re: Hero 7 Black Battery Issues
[ New ]Glad to hear back from you, @greenboost65412. But you might want to change to a different SD card. The Ultra card is not a recommended one and Sandisk ultra cards have been found to only work initially with GoPro cameras. Eventually, they cause camera issues that we do not want you be experiencing. We will watch out for an update from you.

[ New ]Thank you for sharing, @stoutsurf65356. May I know which particular SD card you got? Have you tried charging the camera without the SD card? Hope to hear back from you.

Re: Hero 7 Black Battery Issues
[ New ]I don't know why we keep getting referenced back to the sd card. The battery issue has to be either the battery or the firmware. This is a brand new camera. I have had no issues using these sd cards on my hero4 black or my gh5.
Right out of the box, this camera was updated to the lastest firmware and charged overnight and would not reach 100%.
After testing some video, no longer than a few minutes, the battery dropped to 80%, then 0% but kept recording. After turning the camera off then back on it went back to 80%.
I'm at work so I can't test this right now, but I will see if the battery charges to 100% with the sd card removed, wifi and voice control turned off.
I will also purchase a new recommended sd to see if this has any impact.
Please don't place this as user error. This is clearly a hardware firmware issue. I don't want to return this camera, I want this fixed. Thank you.
