My brand new hero 6 stops charging at 87% if I'll charge it while it is turned off.. Then all LED will start to turn on and off but the charge will still be between 87% to 91%.. I experienced this with two separate cameras already since I had my first one replaced due to the same problem.. I believe this problem occurs when I updated the firmware to 1.60 since the 2nd camera didn't had the problem when it had 1.55 as its firmware.. I'm a new gopro user and this experience makes me think that I made a mistake on buying your product.. Please help..

Most likely it's just the battery. I was having that happen with one of mine. After several charging cycles all of my batteries are working fine and charging to 100%. PRIOR to the 1.6 update the Hero6 was having issues with the red charging light not turning off and also only charging to the mid to high 90's. After the update, I haven't seen this issue.

I don't think it's the battery since my first unit was replaced with a brand new package. It's new so there should be no problem. I updated the firmware and connected the camera to my phone to test the entire package. After my new battery went down to 10%, I charged it and then the problem reoccurred. If it's a battery issue then I think gopro produced a very bad batch of Hero 6 with defective batteries.

I tested every battery I have (authentic gopro batteries) but the problem still exist. I resorted in using my samsung cord and charger to charge my unit and in a blink of miracle, the batteries were 100% charged. Please check the cords you package. I got two consecutive (I am assuming since my first unit had the same problem) bad gopro cords that came along with the package. Cords are cheap but they have your logos in it and it will give us your customers a bad impression on your products. Please have this check. Thank you.
