I´m sure there is a problem with the update of the following website: https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/Software-Update-Release-Information
Not even GoPro will think about dismissing a bit more than one year old product without releasing software updates at all to "force" users to buy the latest product...it will be pathethic, isn´t it? It will be the reason why GoPro is going down so quickly...
So, to prove my erroneous thinking, may someone please update the correct info on the support page for the Hero6 and show people where to download the "newer that 2.01" firmware?
Much appreciated, thanks.

The page that you linked to was the release notes information page which contains all the release notes regarding the latest firmware updates for the camera. If you want to update your camera you should use this page as this is where the updates have always been located.
From here you can select your device(s), read the release notes and then view instructions on how to update via the app or perform a manual update.

Really and many thanks for this exhaustive and resolutive answer.
So, my next one is: why GopRo does not support anymore the Hero6 and does not release a new firmware? Where is the "post 2.01"?

The link for manually updating the GoPro clearly brings you to Software Release Ver 2.01
I'm not sure why you think GoPro does not support this camera anymore. GoPro are constantly updating their app to provide new features and stability across all supported models of camera's (which still includes the GoPro Hero 3 upwards). The last firmware update for the GoPro Hero 6 made several improvements to the shooting modes.
Unless there is a direct firmware issue that results in a conflict with the GoPro App or Quik, I would doubt there would be any need to create another firmware update. The current firmware takes full advantage of the camera's hardware and as such there is nothing else to be achieved by creating another firmware update.

I´m not sure why you think GoPro DOES support Hero 6:
- Release date: Sept 2017 --> updates: Sep 2017, Nov 2017, Feb 2018 (STOP) --> Oct 2018 Hero 7 released
Only 3 firmware updates for a camera which is full of bugs, both alone both with devices (ex: smart remote). I´m talking about just stability, not new features. The camera is very far from being stable and despite this fact GoPro does not release any new firmware for fixing at least something.
It´s a strategy/marketing fact the block of support of Hero 6 to force the Hero 7 upgrade.

I've owned two GoPro Hero 6 camera's since release, both work fine with the App, Smart Remote, uploading to Social Media site, time lapse recordings, flight recordings using external mics and an N-flight adapter. So I'm not sure what bugs you are experiencing. Maybe you should try describing the issues that you're having and that way someone may be able to suggest a fix?

We´re lucky the market has found valuable competitors. Soon we will remember GoPro as one of the many companies which invented a good product and then, due to poor management, let competitors to improve it.
