Having had a Hero 5 Black for almost a year, I raised a support ticket in January 2017 regarding the audio quality when the USB door is removed and also when used in the Karma Grip. As usual with GoPro support, nobody updates you and everytime you call or chat, you are told that it is being worked on. once I had moaned enough, I was informed that the issue had been escelated to Ed Gardina (who it seems is a mod here) and that I would hear from him as he will be resolving this 'known issue'. Did I ever hear from him? no. not a peep. Whenever I would call I would be told that 'Ed is dealing with it and he will be in touch'. What joke.
Then, just before the Hero 6 is announced I receive an email saying 'as we have not heard from you in five days. your support ticket is closed'. This is after it being opened for 10 months!
Then, the hero 6 is announced... 2 x better than the hero 5...is it??? is it GoPro???
I thought I would purchase it to see and what did I find?...
Audio quality WORSE than the Hero5
Over saturated colors
grainy/noisy images EVEN IN DAYLIGHT
poor quality images especially when using WDR
unable to connect when using 5ghz wifi
All sorts of issues. Many of which echoed in other posts.
I even read about someone who had friends at GoPro and when questioned about the audio issues on the hero 5 the response was that GoPro were aware but not concerned!
How could GoPro release a camera with so many flaws and expect people to wait for a firmware update in November that will most certainly NOT resolve most of these issues??? Most people will be out of there 30 day return window so will be stuck.
Releasing cameras and equipment to market that have serious issues (and can fall out of the sky) shows a destinct lack in quality and customer satisfaction. GoPro is only interested in it's share price. There seems to be little investment in R&D and quality control as well as after sales support which is extrmeley lacking.
I doubt this post will stay up for long but I wish you all good luck. I really hopw GoPro will start caring and resolve the issues in the equipment that you have spent you hard earnt cash on.
I for one have returned all of my GoPro equipment and will not invest in this company again.

I looked at your post count and it only shows one. You created an account just to post this....WONDERFUL !
We have to take your word that you called support? If you would have went to the forum and asked
about your issues, maybe somebody would have helped you, or at least some evidence that you are having any issues.
Not everyone is echoing your problems, I'm certainly not, so please save the "I speak for everyone" for another
forum. The only big issue I have is low light grain, and they stated they're working on a fix if you would have read

I use a couple of Hero4 GoPros. I love the Silver with the built in LCD.
I guess by the time GoPro delivers the Hero8 in 2020 it might actually give my the 2x performance advance over the Hero4!
4K60 with stabilization and Linear View... Actuall low light performance improvement and not just adjustements to saturation and base ISO levels. They might even bring back Photo+Video mode in the GP3 SOC processor!

So, geekslayer, you had a whole 5 posts before this one so thank you for pointing out how far behind I am...haha
If YOU had read my post properly, you would have noticed that I have been in contact with GoPro support since January.
And are you also saying that the users on this forum (no disrespect to those that are experienced), would have resolved my issues above and beyond the knowledge of GoPro support??? what does that say for them???
I suggest that you refrain from trying to increase your post count by adding pointless replies such as this one.
I never said that I speak for everyone but a simple google search (if you know how to) would confirm that there are thousands of people that share my opinion.
I believe that the low light grain issue you have can be easily resolved by opening your curtains or perhaps going outside.
