Hero 6 overheating / file repairing shutdowns after 15mins recording.
[ New ]When trying to record in loop mode 2.7k 120fps or 60fps camera shuts down after 15mins with overheating logo on it or after restart repair file bandage on it. Camera is very hot.
I tested it with 2.7k 30fps and it seemed to work fine, i stopped recording after 1h 30mins..but seems like its ok at 30fps.
Can this be sdcard speed problem?
Camera firmware is 2.01
sd card is Sandisk extreme 256gb / sdsqxao-256g-gn6ma

Re: Hero 6 overheating / file repairing shutdowns after 15mins recording.
[ New ]I tested the write and read speeds of Sandisk extreme 256gb / (sdsqxao-256g-gn6ma) card with laptop and crystaldiskmark program.
This card is U3 and still i get speeds like this...
Speeds are Read 16.43 MB/s / Write 15.65 MB/s. U3 should be atleast 30 MB/s. When i bought this card i looked that gopro recommends Sandisk extreme ...
In sandisk website it says: "Up to 100/90MB/s read/write speed, video speed C10, U3, V30 Micro SDXC/SDHC"
this is very misleading if you get truly only 15 MB/s write speed.
I will next test sandisk extreme pro 64gb card couple of days with the camera and laptop. then i know if its camera or the card that is driving me crazy.
Link to card.

Re: Hero 6 overheating / file repairing shutdowns after 15mins recording.
[ New ]So with new sandisk extreme pro 64gb (sdsqxcg) memory card same thing happened.. i recorded 2.7k at 120fps and camera stopped after 30mins. After turning it back on it says file repairing with bandage logo on it, camera was extremely hot.
Both sdcards perform just fine, i now tested them with i7-6700k computer with usb 3.0 card reader. extreme pro write speed was 88 MB/s.
I bought gopro hero 6 last winter here in (finland) so i only tested it shortly until now when our fishing trip is 1.5 weeks away.. Theres no time for sending it for repair...
What a horror story.

Re: Hero 6 overheating / file repairing shutdowns after 15mins recording.
[ New ]So after 3 weeks in service they gave me new device, and its the same.. now after about 40mins of 4k 60fps recording camera shuts down and shows repairing file bandage logo when turning back on.
Camera gets extremely hot. has to be overheating problem.
This camera wont work with sandisk extreme pro 64gb or sandisk extreme 256gb cards... complete junk.
Is there anyway to get money back, i dont do anything with camera that can record only short 30min clips.
I live in Finland and bought this device from Gigantti store.
