Hero 6 battery connector corrosion
[ New ]Hey. I have had my hero 6 since Christmas, and have gone in the water and filmed surfing with it, my sole purpose for buying it. Ever since owning it I was also a bit confused because every one in a couple hours it would randomly crash, but I didn't mind and thought it might just be a software bug. Then, when taking some photos, the battery started glitching, so after I got home and dried off, I checked it out. both batteries I used that day were ruined, for halfway through I dried off and changed batteries, and the little metal connectors where the battery and gopro connected showed corrosion, although nothing else showed corrosion or damage. Frustrated because I have had it for less than 6 months, and it was advertised as fully waterproof up to 30ft, and I have brought it 5ft under max. I didn't buy a warranty because it wasn't being put under extreme circumstances, and I'm really pissed that what was supposed to be a super action camera that could survive anything died so quickly.

Re: Hero 6 battery connector corrosion
[ New ]@toshmj - Salt water can cause corrosion even after you're out of the water. When using the GoPro in salt water, always rinse it off with fresh water when you're done.
Even with that, if the corrosion is only on the battery connectors, then it may be ab issue with the battery. Our team at https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs can help troubleshoot this with you.
Thanks,
Jeff
