I have a Saramonc SR-XM1 omnidirectional mic I am using with the official GoPro mic adapter. After reading the User's Manual I still can't figure out how to get an audio level on the display screen to ensure the audio inout is adequate.
- Is a display level of audio volume input even possible?
- If yes, how fo I get a reading?

that be a great feature to have seeing a gain control like a Histogram, not on gopro's will you see any audio. maybe a white mic icon (doubt that) if plugged in. no audio level either on app.
offer that feedback to gopro. at their feedback form
I love to see a mic gain where we control it ourselves like the Coughcough kodak Zi 8 zi10 wish kodak kept in business.

Thanks for the confirmation of what I thought might be the answer. It is like recording "blind".
My next challenge is tying off the mic adapter while pointing the Saramonic mic forward

Some may ask can I hook up ear buds and hear the sound... I use a hot shoe and 3m and glue to the top of the clip and face forward and backward my mic. then that heavy aluminum case that i have two of Lol. If Iremember right and when I did my tests the promic only will still connect the internal mics until a external 3.5mm plug is in?

I thought of earbuds too, but do they plug into the USB-C port?
I like your mic adapter mounting setup on your camera, but it looks involved? To what did you strap/secure your adapter and how?
